CRCSI presents AAM with 43pl Award for Outstanding Contribution

The 43pl Company Award recognises a company or individual that has made an outstanding contribution to the growth of spatial, and on behalf of 43pl, this year’s award goes to AAM Pty Ltd for its long-term and sustained contribution throughout the life of CRCSI.

AAM, a foundation member of 43pl has, throughout a 13-year partnership, contributed significantly to CRCSI activities within research, program advisory and at a governance level.

Notable individual contributions include Scott Ramage, a Member of the Research Investment Committee since 2010; Malcolm McCoy, a 43pl representative on the CRCSI Board since 2010; Chris Earls, a 43pl Board member for four and a half years and ongoing Program 1 Advisory Board Member; John Blackburn, Program 2 Board Member; and Mark Freeburn, AAM’s CEO, who was appointed to the 43pl Board this year.

At a research level, with involvement in 15 projects since 2003, AAM has contributed to the success of several high impact CRCSI projects, including:

  • Systems development of the NRM Spatial Hub Project, which provides a web-based management tool to 400 properties covering 50 million hectares of Australia’s rangelands;
  • Membership of the Pacific Island Coastal Inundation Capacity and Planning Project.   This project won a 2015 United Nations Lighthouse Award for its work in four Pacific countries to train and prepare for sea level rise.

AAM’s proactive contribution to CRCSI activities demonstrates the tangible benefits that can be derived through long-term partnerships with industry, government and research organisations.
