AAM and AOC Release Free World Cup Stadium Viewer
To celebrate the opening of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, AAM and partner company, AOC Geomatics, have released two products on their websites: movies/fly throughs of the stadiums in 3D and a free World Cup Stadium Viewer.

The World Cup Stadium Viewer is quick and easy to use. Simply click onto one of the soccer balls to open up a Pictometry® captured image of the stadium, then click onto the stadium image to start an interactive experience of the stadium with perspectives: north, south, east, west and vertical.

RapidEye Library Now Contains More Than 3 Million km2 of India
RapidEye announced today that over 95% of India (over 3 million square kilometers) of its satellite imagery is now available in the RapidEye Library.

Much of the country has been collected cloud-free, with the remainder containing less than 10% cloud cover. The image campaign began in January, however the majority of the imagery was collected within a period of about 8 weeks.

Extensive Satellite Imagery Coverage over Western Australia
A new milestone has been reached: this month the Western Australian archive of RapidEye satellite imagery has surpassed 1.75 million sq km.

Satellite imagery coverage over Western Australia has increased significantly in the past four months. Almost 3,000 RapidEye image tiles with less than 20% cloud cover were acquired this year alone over Western Australia.

GeoEye-1 Archive Reaches New Milestone
A recent review of the GeoEye-1 archive shows a substantial increase in recent data coverage in Australia in comparison to the previous 2 years. More than 1 million sqkm of data has been captured in recent months.

The 50cm imagery (originally captured at a resolution as small as 41cm at nadir) is proving popular with groups as diverse as agribusiness, energy companies, mining and government.

RapidEye Collects One Billion km2 of Satellite Imagery in Just Over a Year
RapidEye announced today that it has imaged one billion square kilometers of the surface of the Earth since it became commercially operational on February 4, 2009.

The rapid data capture by the RapidEye constellation of satellites has benefited Australia.  In recent months massive amounts of data have been acquired.  To date Australian clients of RapidEye have included state government interested in environmental issues and private sector companies in energy, mining and agricultural sectors.

Extensive New GeoEye-1 Satellite Image Coverage over New Zealand
The magnificent image clarity and pleasing colour balance of the 50cm GeoEye-1 satellite imagery over New Zealand  now provides an option for agencies to  cost effectively update portions of their aerial photography coverage.

“The availability of GeoEye-1 archive data makes adoption of GeoEye high resolution imagery feasible for many government agencies. The DIY archive search tool makes it easy to confirm the availability of new data,” says Dr Gail Kelly, Business Development Manager of AAM.

Key Agricultural Districts: Unique Spectral Info Now Available

Several key agricultural districts of Australia are currently being imaged with the unique spectral instruments onboard the five RapidEye satellites currently orbiting the planet. For the first time imagery is available in the ‘red edge’. Other satellites only provide 10m multispectral imaging capabilities across Green, Red and Near Infra-Red and 20m resolution for Short Wave Infra-Red.

New Zealand: RapidEye Capture Now Underway

RapidEye satellite imagery now extends across areas of New Zealand. In the last few weeks substanial coverage with less than 20% cloud has been placed in the archives.

RapidEye is the only commercial geospatial solutions provider to own and operate a constellation of five identical Earth Observation satellites. AAM is the distributor for satellite data products from RapidEye.

RapidEye Covers 70% of Australia in 11 Months

RapidEye archive satellite imagery now extends across some 5.3 million sq km of Australia, representing almost 70% of the continent.

This represents recent archive coverage, acquired since February 2009, at less than 10% cloud cover, and generally less than 15 degrees off-nadir imaging angle.
